Photo Shoot 06/20/10

This was my very first photo shoot with a group of people. I was approached and asked if I would be willing to take some pictures for their apartment. It turned out to be one be the best experiences I have had. I was blessed to learn a whole lot about how to shoot with a group of people. I still have a whole lot to learn, but here are some of the results. There will be many more later as editing and selection processes continue.

Couldn't have asked for better participants. These girls were amazing and willing to climb onto anything I asked them to.

Rexburg Area Agriculture 06/13/10

With a beautiful sky and shadows being cast this scene lasted for about 5 minutes. Always have your camera with you. HDR shot

Trying out several different edits of a beautiful scene in the fields outside of Rexburg Idaho. HDR shots. Camera: HP R717

This is the pivot sprinkler I got in a fight with when I was taking some of my shots. HDR Shot

This shot is completely raw with no editing , just straight photography. Funny story about this shot. I was actually driving away soaking wet from my fight with the pivot sprinkler enjoying my heater in the car when I looked at this shot in the rear view mirror. I decided to pop it in reverse and go take a shot. I was lazy and choose to stay in my car with the heater so I rolled down the passenger window and snapped this shot. It is one of my favorite.
On the road I was driving on I saw this scene and decided to shoot it and I am very pleased with the results. HDR shot.
I was on a dirt road in the middle of a farmers field where I took this shot. The hills seemed to go on forever and the scene was very peaceful. It made me appreciate the Sunday day of rest.

Rexburg Idaho Temple Sunset: 06/13/10

This shot was taken at about 9:00 pm on 06/13/10. The sun had been setting for a while, and the clouds moved right out of the way for this shot. The editing was done in Camera Raw CS5, to bring out the colors and up the contrast I played with the blacks.

Saturday Soccer Game

My friend Caroline Hansen was playing in a soccer game on Saturday 06/05/10. My roommate and I went and supported her and her team. We had a blast just laughing at talking on the sidelines. The game was a blowout for the other team, but Caroline was in good spirits. My roommate Kendall and I left at half time and got a pizza from Little Caesars. It was eaten before we got back to the game.
I needed some "Freeze Action" shots for the Photographics Society on campus of which I am in the presidency, so this seemed like a prime opportunity. This shot of Caroline was taken at a 10x zoom, but it worked out for the shot. Shows how hard core Caroline Hansen really is.
During the game Kendall and I saw a circle rainbow in the sky directly above us. It was hard to see, so through a little editing I tried to bring out the "Raincircle" we saw in the sky.
On a random side note. I got a picture with "TC14" the Stormtrooper aka. Han Solo. It was the closest to Harrison Ford I have ever been. Pretty much awesome.

Billings Montana LDS Temple

These Pictures are of the Billings Montana Temple. It is another place for great inspiration and photography. I took all of these pictures in January and February 2010.

Rexburg Temple HDR Shots

These Shots are all HDR (High Dynamic Range.) This style of photography takes three differently exposed images (over exposed, under exposed, normal exposure) and blends them together to pull the best colors, lights and exposure in a photograph. This gives it a very different look than regular photography.

The Rexburg LDS Temple is a great subject upon which to practice photography and provides wonderful experiences for me. Please Click on the image for larger images.

These two photographs are just variations in the style of editing.

These two are also variations in the editing to achieve slightly different effects.

Here are two other perspectives of the temple.
